My 2024
Building Connections: I learned the importance of networking and making friends. Joining clubs, attending events, and working on group projects helped me build a strong network of peers.
Navigating Independence: I became more independent-whether that meant handling my finances, managing my meals, or simply taking care of my daily responsibilities. I realized the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle and being proactive about my well-being.
Discovering My Passions: I explored different academic fields and extracurricular activities. I realized what I'm truly passionate about and what kind of career I want to pursue. My first year gave me the clarity I needed to begin shaping my future path.
Managing Finances: I had to start budgeting and keeping track of expenses, which was new for me. I learned how to manage my money more effectively, balance my spending, and plan for the future. Self-
Discipline and Motivation: In high school, I had a more structured schedule, but in university, ! had to develop my self-discipline. I learned how to avoid procrastination and stay motivated, even when classes were tough or assignments were overwhelming.
What I want to learn in 2025
1. Personal growth
-Mindfulness & Emotional Intelligence: I want to dedicate time each day to practicing mindfulness through meditation, journaling, and self-reflection. This will help me become more aware of my emotions and responses to situations, leading to better self-control and emotional resilience.
-Time Management & Productivity: I've been exploring different methods to improve my time management, such as the Pomadoro technique or time-blocking. I want to be more disciplined with my time, prioritize tasks more effectively, and avoid burnout by learning to balance work with self-care.
2. Professional development
-Advanced Communication Skills: Whether in writing or public speaking, I want to refine my ability to communicate effectively. This includes learning persuasive writing, active listening techniques, and improving my presentation skills.
-Study Techniques: I want to try active learning techniques, such as summarizing material in my own words, using flashcards, and teaching concepts to others, because they help me retain information better.
3. Creative skills
-Photography: I've always had an interest in photography, so this year 1 want to learn how to use my camera more effectively, experiment with lighting, and explore photo editing software.
-Creative writing: I want to improve my storytelling skills by writing short stories or starting a blog. This will help me develop my creativity and communication.
4. Health & Wellness:
-Fitness: I want to start a consistent workout routine, focusing on both strength training and flexibility. My goal is to build muscle, increase stamina, and feel more energized.
-Nutrition: 1 plan to learn more about balanced nutrition and how to create meal plans that support my fitness goals while being mindful of sustainability.
5. Hobbies
Cooking: I'd like to learn how to cook a variety of cuisines, focusing on healthier recipes that I can make quickly and enjoy. This year, I want to master making dishes like homemade pizza, sushi, and plant-based meals.
